How to convert CGPA to percentage for most Indian universities?
The standard formula used by most Indian universities including those following UGC guidelines is: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. For example, 8.2 CGPA = 8.2 × 9.5 = 77.9%.
What is the minimum CGPA for a first-class degree in India?
Most Indian universities award First Class for a CGPA of 6.0 and above (equivalent to ~57% using standard formula), and First Class with Distinction for CGPA of 7.5+ (~71.25%).
How is GPA calculated with credit hours?
Weighted GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). Multiply each subject's grade point by its credit hours, add them all, then divide by the total credit hours.
What happens if attendance falls below 75%?
Most Indian universities require 75% minimum attendance to sit for semester exams. Below this threshold, students may be detained (not allowed to appear in exams) unless they receive medical exemptions.
How is education loan EMI calculated?
Education loan EMI uses the standard formula: EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1), where P is principal, r is monthly interest rate, and n is tenure in months. Education loans typically have a moratorium period (no repayment) during the course plus 6–12 months after completion.
