Extract ZIP, RAR, and 7Z compressed files online. No installation, no signup. Runs entirely in your browser.
A ZIP file extractor (also called an unzip tool) opens compressed archive files — such as .zip, .rar, or .7z — and extracts the files and folders stored inside them. Compressed archives are widely used to bundle multiple files into one smaller package for easy sharing and downloading. ToolsWallet's extractor uses WebAssembly-powered decompression libraries that run entirely inside your browser — your files are never uploaded to any server, making it completely private and secure.
📦 ZIP (.zip)
The most common archive format. Used by Windows, Mac, Linux, and all major apps. Supported by all devices natively.
🗜️ RAR (.rar)
Popular for large archives with better compression than ZIP. Commonly used for software and media distribution.
🔷 7-Zip (.7z)
High-compression format from the 7-Zip project. Offers excellent compression ratios for large files.
Upload your archive
Click or drag your .zip, .rar, or .7z file into the upload area.
Browse file contents
The tool lists all files and folders inside the archive before extraction. You can see file names and sizes.
Select files to extract
Choose specific files or extract everything inside the archive.
Download extracted files
Individual files download to your device. For multiple files, they are packaged into a new ZIP for easy downloading.
What is the difference between ZIP, RAR, and 7Z?
ZIP is the universal, natively supported format on all operating systems. RAR offers better compression for large files but requires software to create. 7Z offers the best compression ratios and is open-source, but is less commonly used outside of technical circles.
Can I open password-protected ZIP files?
If you have the password for a protected archive, you can enter it during extraction. The tool cannot bypass or crack passwords on protected archives.
Are my files safe?
Yes. Extraction runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded to any server — they never leave your device.
Is there a file size limit?
The tool can handle archives up to a few hundred MB. Very large archives may be slow to process depending on your device's processing power.
Can I extract files on my mobile phone?
Yes. The tool works on Android and iOS browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox). It is a practical alternative when you receive a ZIP file on WhatsApp or email and need to open it without an app.
